The Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Compliance Programme and Strategy to lead the development and delivery of Anchor’s compliance strategy, programmes, and governance framework. Reporting to the Director of Resident & Building Safety, you will ensure Anchor meets all legal, regulatory, and internal policy requirements while embedding a compliance-first and customer-first culture.
This role involves strategic leadership, risk management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and transparency in compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an organisation-wide compliance strategy aligned with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Establish robust governance frameworks and produce high-quality compliance reports for the Executive Leadership Team, Board, and regulators.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring assurance reporting.
- Lead the development and delivery of compliance training programmes for colleagues, leadership, and contractors.
- Investigate significant compliance breaches and liaise with regulators (e.g., HSE, BSR) during audits and enforcement actions.
- Manage the compliance programme budget and monitor KPIs to drive performance and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
About You
You are a strategic leader with extensive experience in compliance programme management. You bring:
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, Health & Safety legislation).
- Significant experience leading compliance programmes in a large, complex organisation, with a track record of developing governance frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead investigations and liaise with regulators such as HSE or BSR.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with experience delivering cultural change.
- A degree in Law, Business, Risk Management, or a related field, and a professional compliance qualification (e.g., CCEP, ICA, IIA) or willingness to work towards one.
- A Housing Management Qualification (CIH Level 4 or above) or commitment to achieve it, and a full, clean UK driving licence.
