Deputy Manager

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4.30 pm.

As Deputy Manager, you will be a key member of the leadership team, supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the dementia care home. You’ll ensure the highest standards of care are delivered, lead and inspire staff, and help create a safe, nurturing environment where residents feel valued and understood.

This role combines operational oversight with hands-on care leadership, making it ideal for someone passionate about dementia care and skilled in team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the overall operations of the care home
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal policies
  • Support with rota planning, recruitment, and staff performance reviews
  • Lead on safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control protocols
  • Supervise and mentor care staff and team leaders
  • Oversee the implementation of personalised care plans
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and ensure support
  • Participate in audits and inspections
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning systems
  • Respond to incidents, complaints, and concerns with professionalism and empathy
  • Build positive relationships with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Represent the home in meetings and community events
  • Support the Registered Manager in strategic planning and service development

 About You: 

  • NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a senior care role,  within dementia care
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • In-depth understanding of dementia and associated care needs
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory frameworks

St Edith’s Court in Leigh On Sea is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 39 residents.
