£12.68 per hour

8 am - 4.30 pm, 5 days a week, Monday - Friday

To ensure the safe, efficient, and welcoming environment of the dementia care home by carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the premises. The handyperson plays a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of residents by maintaining a homely, hazard-free space that promotes comfort, dignity, and safety.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance and odd jobs as required within the location
  • Removal of waste and debris once work is completed 
  • Maintain outdoor areas such as gardens, pathways, and car parks to ensure safety and accessibility.
  • Follow Health and safety procedures and carry out health and safety checks as required
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in general maintenance or gardening.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience working in a care environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

The Beeches in Leatherhead is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 54 residents.
