We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Care Assistant to join our team in a specialist dementia care home. You will play a vital role in supporting residents with dementia to live with dignity, comfort, and joy. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference every single day
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents with varying stages of dementia.
- Assist with daily living activities including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
- Support residents during mealtimes, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and reminiscence therapy to promote wellbeing.
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical or emotional health.
- Maintain accurate care records and follow individual care plans.
- Promote independence and respect residents’ choices and preferences.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other team members.
- Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in care (especially dementia care)
- Genuine compassion and patience for working with individuals living with dementia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to residents’ changing needs.
