We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and proactive Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our specialist dementia care home. This role is pivotal in ensuring high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and a nurturing environment for residents living with dementia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Home Manager in overseeing all aspects of care delivery and operational management.
- Lead, mentor, and support care staff to ensure person-centred care is consistently delivered.
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and dignified environment tailored to the needs of residents with dementia.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with CQC standards and other relevant legislation.
- Manage staffing rotas, recruitment, and training to ensure adequate coverage and skill development.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
- Conduct audits, risk assessments, and quality assurance checks to drive continuous improvement.
- Step into the Home Manager’s role during absences, ensuring seamless continuity of care and leadership.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care (Level 5 desirable).
- Proven experience in a senior care role, ideally within dementia care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- In-depth understanding of dementia and its impact on individuals and families.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, medication management, and care planning.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required.
