At Anchor, we’re passionate about creating safe, high-quality homes where older people can thrive. As England’s largest not-for-profit provider of specialist housing and care, we’re proud to make a real difference to thousands of residents every day.
We’re looking for a dynamic, people-focused Operations Manager to lead our Extra Care Housing services across London and the South East. You’ll bring strong leadership, empathy, and resilience to a role that’s as rewarding as it is challenging.
About the Role
- Reporting to the Director of Extra Care Housing, you’ll oversee performance, compliance, and service delivery across a diverse portfolio of schemes.
- This is a fast-paced leadership role where no two days are the same. You’ll lead a multi-site team, balancing competing priorities and ensuring consistently high standards across housing, safety, and resident experience.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional housing operations in line with legal, regulatory, and policy standards.
- Inspire and develop a motivated, high-performing team through periods of change.
- Champion resident wellbeing, resolving complex issues with care and professionalism.
- Manage multiple priorities with confidence and calm.
- Oversee performance across occupancy, arrears, compliance, satisfaction, and budgets.
- Collaborate with maintenance, safety, and safeguarding teams to ensure safe environments.
- Build positive relationships with local authorities, commissioners, and external partners.
About You
You’re an experienced operational leader who thrives on variety and purpose. You’re skilled at juggling priorities, leading dispersed teams, and staying calm under pressure. You understand that what matters most is the difference you make — for residents and the people you lead.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience managing complex housing or care operations, ideally for older people.
- Strong knowledge of tenancy management, arrears, ASB, safeguarding, and compliance.
- Financial acumen and experience managing substantial budgets.
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
- Confidence working with local authorities and commissioners.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or QBE with significant relevant experience.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across your region.
