Property Development Solicitor
Hybrid working – Home and Bradford or London Office
About the role
Anchor are currently seeking an experienced Property Development Solicitor to join their established, in-house legal team. This role will provide expert legal advice and representation to the Organisation, where you will be advising and supporting colleagues on both standard and complex Property Development Law matters.
This is an exciting time to be joining the in-house legal team that has recently undertaken an organisational restructure – you will be part of a growing, dynamic team that form an important function of central services supporting this ambitious Organisation.
The role will involve agile working, spending two or three days a week in our Bradford office and the rest working from home.
What you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you will already be a qualified solicitor and have the following knowledge/skills/experience in as many of these areas as possible:
- 4 + PQE from a Property Development Law background
- A strong understanding of the Social Housing & Care sector
- Land disposals and site/property acquisitions (particularly linked to provision of social housing & care homes)
- Development set-up and site assembly, strategic land options, collaboration & JV agreements including conditional contracts.
- Planning consultation including planning applications & appeals, s38, s278 and s106 agreements, option agreements, nominations agreements, overage agreements and environmental assessments such as managing ecological and nature conservation issues and environmental risk, including contaminated land.
- Drafting and negotiating property development agreements, funding agreements, forward funding arrangements, infrastructure agreements, construction & building contracts, collateral warranties and consultant appointments.
- Construction dispute resolution & litigation including management of impact of insolvency and latent defects.
- Management company incorporation including experience in application of ground rent and service charges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be demonstrated through positive internal and external stakeholder relationship management.
- Ability to successfully manage a varied caseload within a fast-paced environment with confident decision-making skills.
- Proactive, pragmatic and solutions driven.
- Computer and technology literate.
