Job Title: Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer
Hours: Full time, permanent
Location: Hybrid
Salary: £25,000
About the role:
The role is responsible for promoting and championing equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) for our residents and colleagues and supporting the EDI Manager with implementing the overall EDI strategy in line with the wider business plan.
This is key to driving Anchor’s position as market leader in housing and care for older people.
As the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer, you will be responsible for:
- researching and promote diversity initiatives and sharing best practice
- providing advice, guidance and support on equality and diversity issues
- maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of anti-discriminatory legislation
- translating equality legislation into practice to ensure organisations meet statutory requirements
- assisting with policy implementation and review
- report on EDI initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement prepare and deliver
- working with the Communications team to ensure relevant, engaging, and inspiring content is developed for internal and external communications channels, including identifying key dates / events throughout the year to support and activity to implement
About you:
You will:
- Have previous experience of working with a fast-paced environment and a passion for EDI
- Have experience of support the delivery of projects within timescales and budgets
- Have experience of developing and delivering communication plans
- Have the ability to challenge other people to think about the customer’s needs by ‘putting themselves in their shoes’.
- Be confident to take personal responsibility and ownership for meeting customer needs and seeing things through to a satisfactory conclusion.
