Job Title: Senior Business Improvement Manager (Property & Assets)
Location: Homebased
Salary: £57,453
Hours: Full time, permanent. 37.5 hours per week
About the role
Reporting into the Head of Business Performance, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Improvement manager to join the Property & Assets team.
We are a looking for a confident and resilient individual who has experience of working within multidisciplined teams with a collaborative approach to introducing change.
This is a role where business improvement qualifications such as LEAN or Six Sigma certification would be desirable, as would an understanding of the various approaches to change management.
This role has 3 core functions:
Leadership:
You will be line manager for the Business Improvement Officer, looking at the distribution of tasks and oversight of activities to ensure the efficient and timely execution of their duties.
You will also deputise for the Head of Business Performance where required.
Performance Management:
- You will be responsible for the management of the Property & Assets Business Improvement Programme including:
- Leading the assessment of proposed initiatives, providing challenge and added value.
- Ensuring initiatives align with corporate and local strategies and plans.
- Supporting colleagues leading initiatives where required.
- Ensuring suitable governance practices are in place (and adhered to) for proposed and existing initiatives.
- Developing and managing related templates and reporting tools.
- Providing suitable communication on progress of the Business Improvement Programme as a whole.
- Working effectively with colleagues and departments across the organisation ensuring positive stakeholder engagement experiences and alignment on activity and priorities.
Business Improvement Delivery:
You will lead the delivery of initiatives within the Property & Assets Business Improvement Programme and for those initiatives you will:
- Lead the development of problem statements.
- Lead the gathering, understanding, and documenting of business requirements.
- Lead the design of solutions.
- Lead the build and implementation of solutions.
- Lead the communication and engagement on those solutions with confidence and clarity to all stakeholders.
About you
The post holder will have the following skills and knowledge:
- Good awareness and understanding of the issues and opportunities faced by housing and care providers.
- Knowledge of change management/service improvement within the property management/construction/housing sector.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and building safety regulations.
- Knowledge of Property Management (repairs and planned investment) approaches.
- Asset Management including compliance regulations in respect of fire safety, asbestos, gas, electric and lift service contracts for residential dwellings.
- Data quality and data governance principles.
- Ability to use tools such as MS Excel to manipulate and interpret data.
- Business Improvement knowledge and skills.
- Excellent analytic and numerical skills.
- Be able to pro-actively identify problems, deconstruct them, and develop an effective set of actions to address them.
- Excellent judgement, organisation, communications, and presentation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to influence across the organisation and externally to embed change activity.
