At Bishopstoke park, contemporary design, traditional architecture and an idyllic woodland setting come together to create a beautiful retirement village in the parish of Bishopstoke.
Set in the historic county of Hampshire and located within natural woodland, our 42-acre retirement village provides a carefully selected range of accommodation alongside extensive communal facilities to meet the varying needs of our residents.
Bishopstoke Park, are looking to appoint an experienced Part Time Gardener to join our horticultural team for 16 hours per week.
This is an all year-round post and will be working in all weathers. You will have previous large scale horticultural experience, preferably from a similar sized estate
Please note the rate of pay will increase to £10.90 from the 1st April.
Reporting into the Head Gardener, responsibilities will include:
- Leaf Clearing
- Lawn Cutting
- Lawn treatment & Care
- Boarder Maintenance
- Seasonal Planting
Required knowledge & experience:
- Previous garden and grounds maintenance experience
- Usage of tools, including petrol lawn mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers, leaf collectors
- Knowledge of plants and shrubs, including identification, planting, maintenance, Identifying best plots
- Knowledge of weeds and weeding.
- Health & safety in the workplace.
Required skills:
- Well organized and able to plan workload.
- Strong interpersonal and empathy skills and a friendly personality.
- Able to work individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to undertake a wide range of activities.
