Team Leader - Care Home
Location - Augusta Court - Chichester
£29,764 - 44 hours/4 nights per week
Augusta Court in Chichester, is a purpose built care home supporting up to 45 residents, which is rated 9.8 on carehome.co.uk
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader/Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to our customers in the care home setting. The successful candidate will report to the Deputy Manager and will be responsible for leading and managing the shift, ensuring the delivery of a service, meeting the needs of individual customers and maintaining the highest standard of care which meets Care Quality Commission (CQC) fundamental standards.
This is a night position working 4 nights per week (44 hours) however we are fleixbile and can accomodate 2 or 3 nights per week also.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead the shift and manage all aspects of service delivery to ensure a high standard of care is provided to meet the needs of individual customers.
- Ensure the delivery of a quality of service which meets CQC fundamental standards.
- Manage shift operation including medication, care reviews, delivery of rotas, and compliance with Anchor policies, CQC fundamental standards, and other legislation directly affecting the location and its customers.
- Performance management of the care team, identifying and reporting any incidences of poor practice or abuse in line with the safeguarding policy.
- Escalate concerns/issues to Deputy Manager as appropriate.
- Administering medication and managing any medication errors.
Requirements:
- Prior experience of working in a customer-focused environment is essential.
- Knowledge of the needs of older people and care setting.
- Care level 3 diploma or team leading qualification.
- NCFE Certificate Level 2 in handling medication
- Strong people management skills, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation, safeguarding of vulnerable adults, Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of liberty.
- Experience of delivering hands-on care and previous people management experience is desirable.
- Ability to adapt to different situations and work under pressure.
- Flexible and reliable with an approachable attitude.
