Bishopstoke Park, are looking to appoint an experienced Head Gardener to join our horticultural team. 40 hours per week. 5 days between Monday to Friday at £14.80 per hour.
Set in the parish of Bishopstoke within historic county of Hampshire. We are located within a beautiful natural woodland, not far from the Itchen Navigation. Our 42-acre retirement village provides a carefully selected range of independent living accommodation alongside extensive communal facilities and beautiful surroundings to meet the varying needs of our residents.
This is an all-year-round post, you will be working in all weathers. You will have previous gardening experience, preferably from a similar type of estate.
Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, responsibilities will include:
Organising the gardening team
Planning the works that is required to be carried out
Ordering of goods required
Good knowledge of Gardening Equipment
Leaf Clearing
Lawn Cutting
Lawn treatment & Care
Boarder Maintenance
Seasonal Planting
Required knowledge & experience:
Previous garden and grounds maintenance experience
Usage of tools, including petrol lawn mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers, leaf collectors
Knowledge of plants and shrubs, including plant identification, planting processes, plant maintenance and is preferred, but not essential.
Knowledge of weeds and weeding.
A basic understanding of Health & safety in the workplace.
