Are you a dynamic and experienced Commercial Manager ready to lead and inspire?
We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to provide effective commercial and contract management leadership across repairs, investment, and compliance workstreams in Property & Assets. You will play a crucial role in developing a culture of commercial awareness within the department and ensure strong interaction with the property and assets senior leadership team to support continuous improvement in commercial management and financial planning. You’ll also be leading a team to ensure robust financial forecasting, budget management, and validation of valuations and contract instructions.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Providing commercial and contract management leadership for repairs, investment, and M&E services.
- Developing and maintaining a culture of commercial awareness.
- Ensuring adherence to contract management arrangements (NEC and/or JCT) and protecting Anchor’s commercial interests.
- Guiding colleagues on differing commercial models, ensuring clarity and understanding of terms of reference and risk.
- Maintaining effective commercial relationships with the supply chain, including negotiating contracts through procurement, delivery, and close.
- Managing any conflicts and commercial contractual procedures, working closely with procurement and the strategic partnership team.
- Establishing and driving commercial processes and procedures across the organisation, including the Wholly Owned Subsidiary in the North East.
- Working closely with finance and property colleagues on risk, cost and value, payments, and claims management.
About You
It would be great if you have/be;
- Minimum degree qualification in a quantity surveying related discipline or appropriate relevant experience (essential).
- MRICS/MCOIB status (desirable).
- 5+ years of Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management experience.
- Recent experience in commercial and contract management of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
- Proven experience working within the social housing maintenance and planned investment sector, on both the contractor and client side.
- Ability to interpret and report complex commercial and operational data to inform performance management.
- Proven experience of delivering commercial value across large organisations.
