Electrician – Anchor Repairs & Property Services
Location: Anchor Repairs & Property Services North East, based from Seaham, County Durham
Department: Anchor Repairs & Property Services
Reports to: Site Manager
Do you want to be part of a repairs service that is aiming to enhance operational performance and drive service improvements for residents across the North East ? Anchor has embarked on an exciting new venture to do just that with the launch of the Anchor Repairs and Property Services team. We need brilliant people to help us achieve our goal.
We’re looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team at Anchor Repairs & Property Services, working on sheltered, retirement, and care homes for the over-55s. If you’re passionate about quality electrical work and making a difference for residents, this is the role for you!
What’s the Role About?
As an Electrician, you’ll be responsible for installing, inspecting, and testing electrical systems, ensuring everything runs safely and smoothly. You’ll fix faults, restore damaged parts, and keep up with the latest regs—like NICEIC 18th Edition—while working across our sites. Reporting to the Site Manager, you’ll help deliver top-standard repairs that keep our residents’ homes safe and comfortable.
What You’ll Do:
- Carry out electrical installations, repairs, and testing to a high standard as directed by the Site Manager.
- Inspect and troubleshoot systems, fixing issues like damaged wiring or equipment with precision.
- Coordinate materials and keep accurate, timely records of your work.
- Stick to company quality standards, ensuring all specs, materials, and workmanship are spot-on.
- Stay safe by wearing the right PPE, using tools properly, and following health and safety protocols (SHEQ).
- Keep your work area tidy and look after company tools like they’re your own.
- Attend training, toolbox talks, and SHEQ courses to stay sharp and up to date.
- Pitch in with other reasonable tasks when needed.
Who We’re Looking For:
You’re a hands-on electrician with a keen eye for detail and a knack for solving problems.
We’d love to see:
- Proven experience in electrical repairs and maintenance, ideally in housing or care settings.
- Qualifications: 18th Edition Wiring Regs (BS7671), City & Guilds 2391 (or EAL equivalent) for inspection and testing, NVQ Level 3, and a JIB Gold Card.
- A full, valid UK driving license (you’ll need to travel between sites).
- In-depth knowledge of electrical safety and health and safety regs in construction.
- Skills like working at height, lifting, and using tools—plus the ability to read diagrams and think on your feet.
- A professional, polite attitude with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Why Join Us?
This is your chance to bring your expertise to a role that matters. You’ll:
- Work on meaningful projects that keep our residents safe and happy.
- Join a team that values quality, safety, and your input.
- Get support to keep your skills sharp with training and development.
Why It Matters:
Your work keeps our electrical systems safe and reliable, directly impacting resident comfort and the reputation of Anchor Repairs & Property Services. You’ll tackle challenges like spotting faults and staying compliant with strict regs, with the freedom to use your initiative—and the backup to escalate bigger jobs when needed.
Ready to Power Up?
If you’re excited to bring your electrical skills to a role that keeps our communities humming, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and let’s light the way together!
